The Authority of Jesus
Matthew 21: 23-27
23 And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?” 24 Jesus answered them, “I also will ask you one question, and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things. 25 The baptism of John, from where did it come? From heaven or from man?” And they discussed it among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 26 But if we say, ‘From man,’ we are afraid of the crowd, for they all hold that John was a prophet.” 27 So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Watch the video of the story below. At the end of the video, Jesus is talking to the Pharisees and telling them how someone (even sinners) can get to heaven. We are ALL sinners, but as Christians, we are FORGIVEN SINNERS. We are asked by Jesus to trust him and obey him. Even though sometimes we don’t, He still loves us and we try again!

How are sinners and people who do bad things able to get to heaven? Jesus says, “Whoever believes in me and is baptized will be saved. Whoever does not believe is not saved.” It takes simple faith (believing and trusting) Jesus in order to get to heaven. That’s it! So trust and obey the Word of God. Listen to Pastor Miller tell you more about how important it is to hear Jesus:

Music is a way to celebrate what God has done for us! Here is a song about what He asks of us. It’s called, “Trust and Obey” by Bob Singleton sung by Kids Worship Motions. Turn up your volume and sing along!
